32 Paths

Walk the Tree of Life, one path at a time.

32 Paths is a daily course in Kabbalah, taught from its own classic books. Each lesson takes about five minutes, and every passage it quotes appears in the original Hebrew or Aramaic beside a fresh English translation, with a link to the full text on Sefaria. The course follows the opening line of Sefer Yetzirah, which speaks of thirty-two paths of wisdom, the ten sefirot and the twenty-two Hebrew letters.

Today

Today shows the next lesson in the course, the Hebrew date and the letter Sefer Yetzirah gives to the month. During the Omer it shows the day's count, and at the turn of each month and before Lag BaOmer, Shavuot, Elul and Tu BiShvat it adds that season's lesson. There is also a short reading from the Zohar on the week's Torah portion.

The Tree

The Tree is the course drawn as a map. Each sefirah fills in as its lessons are read, and the twenty-two letters sit underneath. Every path has its own page with the Hebrew name, what it means, how to say it and a button that says it aloud in Hebrew.

Your Hebrew month

Setup asks for a birth date and whether the birth was before or after sunset, because the Hebrew day starts at sunset. It then shows the Hebrew month that date falls in, with the letter, sign and sense that chapter five of Sefer Yetzirah gives it. That is a teaching about the month. It says nothing about the person born in it.

The Library

The Library holds a Zohar reading for every weekly portion, all twelve months, the forty-nine days of the Omer, a glossary of Hebrew terms with their pronunciation, and your own notes.
